Satellite operator SES has launched an interactive iPad app which displays its global fleet.
This fascinating free App (search for SES SA and then download) shows both a global or polar view together with footprint maps, satellite status reports on the 52-craft fleet and a search tool based on location. Users can even locate the position of SES satellites by holding and pointing the iPad to the sky.
Niclas Friese Greene, SVP/Marketing and Corporate Communications at SES, says. “This tool illustrates the concept of satellites in space and coverage over the earth, as well as provides information that will enable our customers to learn more about our global fleet. With this new application, we are literally putting our satellite fleet in the hands of our customers.”
