Cricket fans will be reaching for their remotes this summer, as Foxtel and Seven grab broadcasting rights in a historic change-of-channels deal, reportedly worth $1 billion.

The deal will see Seven West Media own the free-to-air broadcasting rights for Australian Test Matches, but not all international matches on Australian soil will be shown on Seven.

With Fox providing the majority of the funds to bankroll the deal, international One Dayers and T20s are set to be shown exclusively to pay-TV audiences in a controversial move.

Any impact on us
No bro, no impact on us this will impact australian viewers who will now have to pay to watch one day, t20i & may be big bash too. ( As they were previously enjoying it for free on channel 9, big bash on ten). Though test matches will still be available to them for free on Seven.

This Aus right include BBL also and deal is for 6 years where as BCCI sells right for 5 years, Almost 1 Billion for only national cricket and 2.5 Billion for IPL. So as a summery after 6 years Aus will get rich by 1 Billion but after 5 years BCCI will be richer by 3.5 Billion USD
