Shoaib Akhtar might be officially making his
debut in comedy with Indian Mazak League,
but the Pakistani fast bowler claims that as
a Punjabi he is blessed with a "funny bone"
and has always had "gift of the gab". In an
interview with Mumbai Mirror, the crickter
shared how dressing room was all about fun
and jokes with team mates and even
competitors.
"I've had my share of fun in the dressing
room with a-joke-a-minute contemporaries
like Mohammad Yousuf and Shoaib Malik and
seniors like Wasim Akram and Inzamam-ul-
Haq. My namesake takes mimicry to another
level. There was so much of banter and
harmless leg-pulling that my jaws would
ache. Among the Indian cricketers Ashish
Nehra and Yuvraj Singh are a riot, as also
Virender Sehwag," he told Mumbai Mirror,
adding that "it's important to keep the
atmosphere in the dressing room light."

ON HIS INDIAN TV DEBUT

"Now I will be paid to enjoy the jokes, I don't
think there can be a better job," he told the
Mumbai tabloid. He has also apparently worked
on his own wardrobe for the show which
comprises of suits with slightly flared trousers
and waistcoats, jeans and tees, primarily in
bright colours.

What he is probably looking forward to the
most is being in the same team with former
competitor Bhajji. "Now we will be on the
same team and I'm looking forward to that.
I hope we can do justice to the job," he said.
Their presence in the same show has already
sparked a controversy. Harbhajan apparently
shared an anecdote on the show according to
which Shoaib beat up him and Yuvraj Singh in
a hotel room in Pakistan. "Basically we were
horsing around and doing some arm wrestling
and that is all but no Bhajji and Yuvi are my
younger brothers no question of beating
them up," Akhtar told PTI.

Life OK's Indian Mazak League is inspired by
IPL and will have 5 teams; each team will be
spearheaded by a captain who will be a
seasoned comedian. Chandan Prabhakar, Raju
Srivastava, Vrajesh Hirjee and Albela have
been roped in as captains. Laughter
Challenge director Panjaj Saraswat will be
helming this latest comedy show on the block.

Shoaib Akhtar, Harbhajan Singh to
judge comedy show on Life OK

MUMBAI: ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’
director Pankaj Saraswat has come up with a new
comedy show called ‘Indian Mazak League’ for Life
OK.
The show is supposed to be different from existing
comedy shows like ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’,
‘Comedy Nights Live’ and ‘Comedy Nights Bachao’.
Former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar and
Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh will debut as
judges on the show, which will feature comedians
from different parts of India.
“I’ve had my share of fun in the dressing room
joking with a-joke-a-minute contemporaries like
Mohammad Yousuf and Shoaib Malik, as well as
seniors like Wasim Akram and Inzamam-ul-Haq.
There was so much banter and harmless leg pulling.
Among Indian cricketers, Ashish Nehra and Yuvraj
Singh are a riot, as also Virender Sehwag,” Akhtar
told Mumbai Mirror.
Another highlight of the show is that it will mark
the return of Raju Srivastava, who is known for his
stint in ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’.
‘Indian Mazak League’ will be modelled on the IPL.
It will have five teams, each team being
spearheaded by a captain. Contestants will face
rounds like quarterfinals, semi-finals and finals.
Srivastava will be the captain of the UP Bihar
team, while Chandan Prabhakar, who is seen in ‘The
Kapil Sharma Show’, will captain the Punjab team.

Yes bro, waiting for this league. Raju bhai coming back after long time.
