New Delhi: In the latest update to CBFC’s
(Central Board of Films Certification) CEO
Rakesh Kumar’s bribery case, Ajay Devgn’s
‘Singham Returns’ team may be probed by
CBI soon.
It may be noted that ‘Singham Returns’
which has crossed Rs 100 cr mark within
five days of its release, is co-produced by
Rohit Shetty, Ajay Devgn and Reliance
Entertainment and if the reports are to be
believed then all of them might be grilled
by CBI for bribing Rakesh Kumar to clear
the flick.
The arrest Rakesh Kumar has come up as a
big blow to the Indian film fraternity that
has taken a bigger shape now.
Initially the case against Rakesh Kumar was
of taking bribe for issuing the censor
certificate to a regional language film from
Chhattisgarh “Mor Dauki Ke Bihav”, drilling
more into the matter, CBI has now come
up with the names of some big wings of
Bollywood who have given massive hits
this year.
According to sources, CBI hasn’t yet
revealed all the names of these producers
but divulged details saying that those four
superhits of this year are in their list.
Rajiv kumar gave out some producers’
name and revealed how their movies were
issued certificate ‘on time’, for which he
took a handsome amount as bribe.
According to a leading daily, other
producers of Shah Rukh Khan, Salman
Khan, Vidya Balan and Ajay Devgn starrer
flicks (released or to-be released this year)
are alleged to approach Rajiv and offer
him bribe to get speedy clearances by the
Censor Board.
It may be noted that this year’s release at
the box office are Rohit Shetty and Ajay
Devgn’s ‘Singham Returns’, Vidya Balan's
‘Bobby Jasoos’ produced by actress-
turned-producer Dia Mirza and her fiancé
Sahil Singha, Salman Khan's Kick produced
by Sajid Nadiadwala and Shah Rukh Khan’s
‘Happy New Year’ that has been produced
by his wife Gauri Khan under his home
productions.
And if there is any truth to Kumar’s
allegation, then all these aforesaid people
and their production houses might be
under scanner soon.
Other than Hindi film industry, names of
more than 25 producers’ belonging to
Marathi, Gujrati, Chhatisgadh, Punjabi and
other regional film industry have been
revealed by Rajiv kumar and his two
associates Jaiswal and Mishra.
CBI is planning to make one more agent
Krishnapalli as Approver so that the case
should be tight in court of law.
CBI also got their hands on some
politicians’ name that are believed to be
involved in approaching Rajiv Kumar and
the team to give favors to some producers
to pass their Censor Board license fast-but
no name has come in limelight yet.
An Indian Railways Personnel Officer,
Kumar joined as CEO of CBFC in January
this year and the deals were made
thereafter itself. http://m.indiatvnews.com/entertainment/bollywood/singham-returns-happy-new-year-producers-bribed-censor-board--16482.html
