Bollywood star Sonakshi Sinha will be seen as a judge in the soon-to-launch singing reality show ‘Indian Idol Junior 2’ on Sony Entertainment Television.
Sinha was roped in to generate more buzz and grab eyeballs for the show as part of the channel’s strategy.
SET senior EVP and business head Nachiket Pantvaidya said, “At Sony, we are constantly working towards creating new-age content to engage with our audiences.
With the second edition of ‘Indian Idol Junior’, we intend to bring the entire family together and recreate a wholesome viewing experience.”
With the show coming back on air after a break of over a year and a half, SET is building the buzz around the show through content and marketing.
SET chief creative director Ajay Bhalwankar said, “We wanted to launch the show after the IPL, but the good part is that we got a lot of time to search for more talent.
After the first junior version, the show was so much in demand that there was a lot of pressure and we had to come back with a second season.
Due to the success of the first year, we got far better talent this year and in fact we saw a lot of participants from South India as well.” Launching on 30 May, the show will aim to boost weekends for SET.
The second edition of the show will air from 8:30 to 10 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
