Anna, i have already discussed in detail regarding this . Each broadcaster needs to carefully decode which audience they want to cater to, what is the best content strategy and how to implement it. If Dhinchaak has dubbed south indian movies strategy then so do they have a pure play bollywood movie channel Dhinchaak 2. Again Star Utsav Movies is extremely popular on DD Free Dish being a bollywood content driven channel.

In present scenario all major broadcasters need to have strong bollywood content across its chs to compete well. Plz go thru the specific thread where we discussed content strategy on hindi movie chs to understand this better

I believe these will primarily air on prime slots on Sony Max HD as these have niche appeal among audience. Sony Max HD might become pure play bollywood channel with popular bollywood films, offbeat/critically acclaimed / less popular bollywood films, dubbed hollywood films being part of its schedule

In other words Sony Max HD is trying to replicate the success of Colors Cineplex HD, which has also become a fully Bollywood channel now. Clearly the management at SPN did not want to be left behind after seeing people appreciating Bollywood movies on Colors Cineplex HD. The further difference is that Colors Cineplex SD is still showing some South movies which Sony Max SD seems to be finally moving away from.

Well, not sure if they r replicating or decided upon strategy post receiving viewer feedback,analyzing all options and going ahead with what is best suited for the channel to get good ratings. But yes, seeing strategy followed by others would have played a part in coming out with revamp plan

Colors Cineplex SD cannot air mostly bollywood films at present bcoz Colors Cineplex Bollywood and Rishtey Cineplex r not available on major platforms hence Colors Cineplex has to cater to both dubbed and bollywood films audience . Later when this happens, Colors Cineplex will undergo change

I was going to say this. Yes, it’s been about 15 days now where colors cineplex HD is consistently playing bollywood movies. It’s sad to see Sony acting so late as they lost out on many good movies and esp. YRF library. Nevertheless, better late than never.

Agree, but every Broadcaster behind Ratings so they're not giving importance to everytime on Bollywood movies, just wait and watch tomorrow or this weekend schedule of Sony Max and any other Broadcasters, they will airing maximum South Indian dubbed movies

Good Ratings can be achieved thru bollywood films too and Star/Disney Hindi Movie chs r biggest example of that. It will take little longer for Sony Max or Wah to regain bollywood audience but they have taken absolutely right step to revamp content strategy and focus more on bollywood films.
We discussed in thread the rationale behind this. Right now be it on Free Dish or Pay TV Hindi Movie chs... Sony/Zee need to focus more on bollywood films. Also on DD Free Dish, Viacom18 needs to bring bollywood films and dubbed films under 1 channel with bollywood films comprising majority of schedule, this way they will consolidate the ratings which gets fragmented between Rishtey Cineplex and Colors Cineplex Bollywood . Also there is some overlapping of films incase of Dhinchaak and Rishtey Cineplex which furher leads to erosion of viewership. They can also make Rishtey Cineplex destination for dubbed hollywood and south indian movies to create a unique identity and garner viewership. Already shared this feedback with viacom18 hindi movie chs cluster head

Overnight change in strategy would not happen. What we saw yesterday might b part of their ongoing plan/process and a way to test the strategy before it can be rolled out in phases.
So do not b disappointed things will improve in the coming days
