Hindi movie channel Sony Max is all set to give its audience a power- packed punch of cricket and entertainment with the world television premiere of sports drama ‘Azhar’ on 14 August at 8 pm.
Directed by Tony D’Souza, ‘Azhar’ captures every bit of Mohammad Azharuddin’s life with Emraan Hashmi, Nargis Fakhri and Prachi Desai in pivotal roles, and Lara Dutta and Kunal Roy Kapur in supporting roles.
In the film, Hashmi plays Azhar, who is fascinated by the lure of easy money and the glamorous world of cricket.
This fictionalisation covers every facet of Azharuddin’s life—his relationship with his two wives, Naureen (Prachi) and Sangeeta (Nargis Fakhri), his equation with the Indian cricket team and his downfall because of allegations of match fixing.
