I did on Sony Sports Networks and even on Ten Sports when it was owned by Zee. Ten Sports had very poor picture quality when it was owned by zee however provided great range of content on this channel and Ten Action....ultimately mounting losses in sports business made them sell these channels to Sony
I disagree though. I watched WWE religiously everyday. I never encountered bad PQ. Zee and loses are nothing new. I never understood any of their acquisition be it Big Channels or 9X. It never made any sense to me.

Will Jio have different set of English commentators?
Have to say pretty pathetic English commentary team.
Most are newbies,Danny is irritating,Sunil Sir is old.
Only Kevin and Hayden are good.
No Ravi Shastri,No Harsha Bhogle? It will be boring. Moreover no female commentator in the panel. Earlier Mel Jones,Lisa Sthalekar ,Isa Guha,Anjum Chopra were there.

Today, I had watch Man Utd's FA Cup tie on Sony Sports Ten 4 in Telugu Commentary... Wow, what an horrendous thing to listen to... I mean they are talking straight up nonsense by throwing buzz words like Spaces and runs around..

I mean, they had a twitter interaction question, some one asked why Casemiro wasn't playing, the reply was he had 2 yellow bookings in FA Cup 😅. I mean they didn't even had homework on main players... And they keep up mixing Fulham's history with united's.. And the last of all, somehow they don't even players names properly, I mean keep on calling Sancho as Sanchez 😅...

I mean, I thought Cricket commentary on Sony & Star in 2018 with RJs and VJs coming as cricket experts was cringe, but this is just next level.

Jio, Disney Star and the marketing agencies involved should be ashamed for creating a lackluster promotion to one of the iconic sports event of the year. What a waste of money. Instead of taking potshots against one another, they should promote the event like how Sony used to do. Some never learn from the past.

JioCinema thinks it cannot afford to show ‘solo’ viewers for IPL because they presume it is not going to fly.

So, the solo-viewing pitch is actually very, very powerful. There are so many real-life situations that can be showcased:
– a mother, sleeping next to her baby, watching IPL on her phone with earphones
– a watchman of a building, watching IPL on his phone
– individual people watching the match, with earphones, in the metro, bus, train

On the other hand, Star Sports could have a ball at JioCinema’s expense, if they really want to respond to the latter’s TV-centric jibes 🙂 Imagine what Star Sports has that JioCinema doesn’t: Predictable, uninterrupted broadcast! Star Sports could show buffering screens on mobile/TV, picture quality deteriorating with fluctuating internet speeds.

Of course, Jio Cinema could counter that by showing Tata Sky’s famous on-screen warning when it’s raining outside.

If these 2 IPL rights owners really decide to have a go at each other, it may end up harming IPL’s reputation more than each other’s.
