With India not playing cricket, it often results in Ten Sports, in particularly World Wrestling Entertainment, having a clear run at the top of the BARC ratings.

Week 36 of BARC ratings has seen actions from WWE all but sweep the top 5 sports programmes save for the England v/s Australia ODI on Star Sports 1 which took the fifth spot with a viewership of 226 (ratings in sum of 000s).

According to select data (All India : NCCS All : Individuals : BARC India base – C&S 1Lac+) for sports channels, Ten Sports’ viewership dropped by 4,000 (ratings in sum of 000s), but it did not stop the channel from climbing up to the top spot with a viewership of 30,850 (ratings in sum of 000S).

Sony Six, which lost its top spot to Ten Sports, slid to No. 3 with a gross viewership of 13,764 (ratings in sum of 000s). During this week, the channel aired domestic T20 action from the Karnataka Premier League and the weekly action from TNA (Total Non-stop Wrestling).

Meanwhile, Star Sports 1 clawed back into the top 3, taking the second spot on the back of live action from the England and Australia ODIs.

With an overall drop in ratings, the highest rated programme for the week was WWE Raw, which got a viewership of 563 (ratings in sum of 000s).

Hindi Movies

According to select data (HSM : NCCS All : Individuals : BARC India base – C&S 1Lac+), Zee Cinema regained the top spot with a gross viewership of 168 million, while Sony Max was pushed to the second spot with a gross viewership of 156 million.

Star Gold stayed third with a gross viewership of 145 million.

The top rated film of the week was ‘I’, which aired on &Pictures and garnered a viewership of 1,757 (ratings in sum of 000s).

Zee Cinema continued to reap the benefits of the hit film ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’, which secured a viewership of 1,706 (ratings in sum of 000s). Zee Cinema had two other films (‘Holiday: A soldier is never off duty’ and ‘Nayak’) in the top five, while Sony Max had ‘Mar Mitenge’ which took the third spot with a viewership of 1,614 (ratings in sum of 000s).

English Movies

There was no change in the hierarchy for English movies as Movies Now, Star Movies and Sony Pix comprised the top 3.

As per select data (6 Mega Cities : NCCS AB : Individuals : BARC India base – C&S 1Lac+), Movies Now remained unchallenged at the top with a viewership of 4,129 (ratings in sum of 000s).

Star Movies lost 361 TVTs, but held on to its second position with a viewership of 2,017 (ratings in sum of 000s).

Sony Pix retained the third spot with a viewership of 1,805 (ratings in sum of 000s).

Its Only Because Of Sun Direct :luv

So according to your coment, barc only takes data from sd viewers... I wonder why sun tv is not the most watched channel in India ??? , next will you say barc rating should be renamed as sun direct ratings' because ratings are ONLY dependent on sun direct?????
