MUMBAI: Star Movies Select HD will air ‘The Revenant’, which was nominated for the Oscars, on 15 October at 9 pm.
The film features Leonardo DiCaprio in the lead. It captures one man’s epic adventure of survival and the extraordinary power of the human spirit.
Inspired by true events, the movie narrates the tale of a legendary explorer and fur trapper Hugh Glass, who is brutally attacked by a wild bear during one of his expeditions of the uncharted American wilderness. In the accident, he gets partially paralyzed and is forced to watch the murder of his own son. He is left to die by members of his own hunting team.
Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, Glass navigates a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption.
‘The Revenant’ won three Golden Globe Awards, five BAFTA Awards and 88th Academy Awards. At the Oscar Awards, Iñárritu, DiCaprio and Emmanuel Lubezki won the awards for best director, best actor and best cinematography, respectively.
