Star Sports’ regional juggernaut continues; Marathi channel launching on 15 July

Some wrong information, Star had Gujarati channel Tara almost before 2 decades.
There was Tara Gujarati in 2000–2002, but that is too far back in time. These articles clearly state that the Tara channels were founded by Ratikanta Basu, who was a former Star executive; they were never part of Star. There was never a Gujarati entertainment channel from Star, and there never will. Star's first regional channel was Star Vijay in 2001*, followed by the Asianet channels in 2008, as well as Star Jalsha and Pravah.

*As @M.J.Sadiq will know, Star acquired Vijay only in 2001. It was running from 1996 to 1997 as Golden Eagle Communication, then from '97 to '01 as Vijay TV.
