Kalanithi Maran-promoted Sun Direct has reduced its net loss for the financial year ended 31 March 2015 while total income saw a marginal 5.6% increase.
The DTH company’s net loss stood at Rs 156.94 crore (Rs 1.57 billion) in FY15 compared to a loss of Rs 262.03 crore (Rs 2.62 billion) in the year-ago period.
Total income grew to Rs 1024.33 crore (Rs 10.24 billion), up from Rs 967.77 crore (Rs 9.68 billion) a year ago.
Revenue from sale of services was at Rs 983.27 crore (Rs 9.83 billion), up 5.3% from Rs 933.61 crore (Rs 9.34 billion) in the earlier year.
Other operating revenues were at Rs 40.98 crore (Rs 409.78 million), up from Rs 36.09 crore (Rs 360.87 million) in FY14.
Meanwhile, the DTH player’s total expenses were marginally down by 3.9% to Rs 1206.02 crore (Rs 12.06 billion), from Rs 1255.38 crore (Rs 12.55 billion) in the year-ago period.
