Sun Direct must make these changes with immediate effect:
A. The EPG of the following channels should be updated:
1. Aakash Bangla
2. NE TV
3. Vijay TV
4. TV9
5. FTV India
6. Disney English
7. Gyandharshan
8. CNN
9. DD -Loksabha
10. DD -Rajyasabha
11. VH1
12. MH1
13. DD - Oriya
14. DD -Shayadri
15. ETV Gujarathi
16. Zee Punjabi
17. NGC
18. Discovery HD
19. NGC HD
20. Zee Tamil
21. I News
22. NTV
The new EPG's should be:
1. Aakash Aath
2. Focus NE
3. Star Vijay
4. TV9 Telugu (As it becomes very difficult to understand which TV9 Group's channel is it.)
5. Fashion TV India
6. Disney Channel
7. DD -Gyandarshan 1
8. CNN International or CNN South Asia
9. LS TV
10. RS TV
11. VH One English
12. MH One Music
13. DD -Odia
14. DD -Sahyadri
15. ETV Gujarati
16. Zee Punjab Haryna Himachal Pradesh
17. National Geographic
18. Discovery HD World
19. National Geographic HD
20. Zee Tamizh
21. I News Telugu
22. NTV News Telugu
B. The LCN's of these channels should be changed:
1. Bhakti TV (LCN 184) needs to be shifted too LCN 700 onwards as it is a devotional channel.
2. Subhavaartha Channel (LCN 188) needs to be shifted too LCN 700 onwards as it is a devotional channel.
3. Zoom TV (LCN 324) needs to be shifted to LCN 600 onwards as it is a music channel.
4. DD -Kashir (LCN 680) needs to be shifted to LCN 644 or so as it is a Urdu channel.
5. DD- Bihar (LCN 646) needs to shifted to LCN 674 onwards as it is a Bhojpuri Channel.
6. PTC News (LCN 582) needs to shifted to LCN 667 onwards as it is a Punjabi Channel.
7. News Live (LCN 584) needs to shifted to LCN 690 onwards as it is a Assamese Channel.
8. Russia Today (LCN 755) needs to shifted to LCN 552 onwards as it is an English News Channel.
9. DD -News (LCN 550) needs to shifted to LCN 570 onwards as it is a Hindi News Channel.
C. The ROI Base Pack - Value Pack should be discontinued as no one takes it as just by paying RS 10 extra they get Value Plus Pack with many popular extra channels.
D. Instead of giving one free regional pack they should start giving two free regional packs like other rivals Tata & Airtel.
E. The following channels should be added in ROI Value Plus Pack to make it more attractive:
1. National Geographic (As it has Bengali Feed as well.) (this channel is must as most of the Bengali People want this. My ten relatives using sun direct want this.)
2. CN (As all dth gives this channel in base packs.)
3. Zee Talkies (Movie Channel is a dire need.)
4. Headlines Today (Very good English News Channel.)
5. Subhavaartha (Devotional Channels should be free & made available in all packs.)
6. Sri Sankara TV (Devotional Channels should be free & made available in all packs.)
F. The following Channels should be removed:
1. PTC News (It should be shifted to Punjabi Regional Pack)
2. I news Telugu (So many South Indian News Channels not required.)
3. Mathrubhumi News (So many South Indian News Channels not required.)
4. Kairali People (So many South Indian News Channels not required.)
5. Puthiya Thalaimurai (So many South Indian News Channels not required.)
6. Gemini Movies (No one in ROI Understands Telugu movies.)
7. Aakash Aath (It should be made available exclusively in Bengali Regional Pack.)
G. They should start a mid tier pack between Value Plus & Mega Pack may be @ RS 260 p.m. with Ten Cricket & Animal Planet.
H. ROI Packs should be clubbed with more ROI Channels & less South Indian Channels.
I. ETV Odia should be added back immediately Odia composition looking a bit feeble.
J. Finally Mi Marathi should also be removed from ROI Packs & Zee Talkies should be added as it is much better than Mi Marathi.
K. They should also start HD Add Ons, which can be taken with any SD Base Pack. These are my suggestions:
1. Sports HD Add On @ RS 70 p.m. - Star Sports HD 1 / Star Sports HD 2 / Sony Six HD.
2. English Movies HD Add On @ RS 60 p.m. - Star Movies HD / Zee Studio HD.
3. Infotainment HD Add On @ RS 50 p.m. - Discovery HD World / National Geographic HD.
4. South HD Add On@ RS 75 p.m. - Sun TV HD / Sun Music HD / KTV HD / Gemini TV HD.
I know, I agreed with Sadiq bro that Angel TV is not a HD Channel. I still agree on this.
But I want Angel TV to be given free in all HD Packs.
L. Doordarshan channels must have programme details.
M. All Bengali Channels must have programme details.
N. Neo Prime & Neo Sports Add On must be started.
O. Like Tata Ten Add On should be started but it should not be too costly as Tata.
P. Urdu top up with ETV Urdu must be started.
See I have told to make these changes with the existing line up of channels only. I have not told to increase 100 + channels. Yes new channels are required but even if new channels are not added these minor changes can make a lot of difference. What say other members ? Just a little bit of planning is required.
