The 34 matches of IPL 8, till week 18, were sampled by 172 million unique viewers.

TAM has released the viewership data for Indian Premier League's (IPL) eighth edition. As per the report, the 34 matches of IPL 8 were sampled by 172 million unique viewers. Also, time spent by viewers per match was 45 minutes and 54 seconds - which is 10 per cent higher as compared to IPL 7.

The average TVTs showed a growth of 26 per cent for IPL 8, compared to IPL 7.

The average TVT of IPL 8 is 10264 TVTs, while that of IPL 7 was 8145 TVTs.

There has been a rise of 2 per cent in the reach of the annual cricketing tournament. IPL 8 reached out 172 million people, while IPL 7 reached 169 million people.

The report states that, till the fourth week, IPL 8 garnered 3.8 per cent average TVRs, which was 25 per cent more than to its previous edition.

Meanwhile, 64 per cent of the All India universe tuned in to watch IPL 8 matches.
