After Ezham Arivu, Surya will be doing the lead role in the film titled Maaran produced by AGS. K V Anand is directing this film. There is a tough competition among the young heroines to pair with Surya.
Initially Meghna Raj was approached for the female lead role. But it seems that Surya was not interested. So the stills of Taapsee, Samantha and Kajol Agarwal were shown to Surya.
Apart from there was news that Deepika Padukone was approached to pair with Surya. But it seems that she has mentioned that since she is pairing with super star now, her salary is Rs 6 Crores. Now talks are going on with Kajal Agarwal and Taapsee.
