They have decided to completely destroy Cable and DTH sector. They want to remove offers given by DTHs on annual recharge, remove all NCF discounts even on Multi-TV connections and remove packs created by DPOs.

In short they want us to choose each channel separately as a la carte but while trying to do this they will make things even more worst as we have seen earlier.

Page 52 of this cons. paper wants feedback from stakeholders regarding Rs 19 pricing of popular channels if not ok what should be price of channel? 3.48 In view of the above, stakeholders are requested to give their comments on the following with justifications: Q.8 Do you agree that price of individual channels in a bouquet get hedgedwhile opting for a bouquet by subscribers? If so, what corrective measures do you suggest? Q.9 Does the ceiling of Rs. 19/-on MRP of a a-la-carte channel to be part of a bouquet need to be reviewed? If so, what should be the ceiling for the same and why?

I'm not sure why they are skeptical to implement the 15 percent discount rule. They are looking for feedback again. They are very well aware of the fact that the broadcasters are misusing the bouquets by giving 70-80 percent discounts. They themselves have mentioned it. Why not just force the 15 percent rule and see if any broadcaster goes to SC. SC already classified that they upheld the entire tariff order.

Finally. Sounds Good.

1. They should stop taking additional NCF of Rs 20 for each 25 channel slab after Rs 130. So we can take unlimited channels.

2. Maximum channel price should be under Rs 10 and 15% discount cap on bouquets which are very confusing for non tech savvy people..

First : Revise NCF for unlimited [email protected]/-
Second : Cancel DPO bouquets, confused everyone and not passed broadcasters incentives to consumers
Third : Fix a la carte channel MRP @10/-

No. Rs 130 NCF is necessary to survive cable operators (MSO+LCO) They get only 20 percent from pay channels. NCF should renamed as maintenance charge or broadcasting charge.

But additional NCF (Rs 20) is a burden for customers. They should remove it so atleast people can watch all free channels.
