Triumph Media Vision, which already runs two free-to-air (FTA) Hindi movie channels, is planning to launch a Hindi music channel in the fourth quarter of the current financial year.
The Mumbai-based company also plans to get into the regional space.
It might launch pure-play movie channels or a hybrid movie channel with a mix of music content in Marathi and Bhojpuri.
Triumph Media Vision, promoted by Sudhir Singh and Surendra Bhatia, owns and operates Housefull Movies and Housefull Action.
The company has applied to the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) for two non-news TV channel licences. For the Hindi movie channels, the company does not have its own licence.
It has rented licences from 9X Media and Vision Corporation to broadcast the two channels.
The new channels, however, will be launched on its own licences.
Ajit Joshi-promoted Swami Films & Entertainment, which is providing the movie content for the two movie channels, will also be content supplier for the future channels.
Swami Films & Entertainment is an aggregator of film and music rights that are later syndicated to FTA channels.
The company has a huge library of film and music rights in Hindi, dubbed South Indian films, Marathi and Bhojpuri.
The ad sales of the two channels have been outsourced.
B4U Media Ventures, the media consulting division of B4U Television Network, is driving the ad sales of Housefull Movies, while White Pixel is managing the ad sales of Housefull Action.
“Triumph Media Vision will launch an FTA Hindi music channel by mid-January of 2017. This will be the third channel after Housefull Movies and Housefull Action.
They plan to have a suite of FTA channels. Going forward, they also plan to launch regional movie or hybrid movie + music channel in Marathi and Bhojpuri space,” said Joshi, who is a close associate of Triumph Media Vision’s Sudhir Singh and Surendra Bhatia.
