Does directly connecting a switch on stb cable end to lnb damages tuner of stb?

Which type of switch do you mean to say? What is the end goal?

Please read it as “power on stb” not any switch

If you mean to say whether hot-swapping is recommended - then no. There is a good chance of short circuit to ground, which might indeed damage the tuner and/or LNB. Usually electronic components are protected against these human errors. But it's not worth anyway.
