French-speaking international channel TV5Monde has inked a deal with US platform Dish Network to launch America’s first French-language kids channel Tivi5Monde.
The new channel kicked off nationally on 26 January and is offered to subscribers as part of Dish’s French bouquet, which already includes TV5Monde USA. The package is available for a monthly fee of $19.99.
Tivi5MONDE will offer French-language programming including animation, education and dramatic series targeting tweens and young teens in the 4-14 demo. Highlights include animated series Les Dalton (Xilam), Galaktic Football (Alphanim Gaumont), Marsupilami, Houba, Houba, Hop ! (Samka Productions) and Dragon Hunters (Futurikon).
