  • Signals activated by Indiacast media, Discovery, ABP, SPND and Zee after substantial payments by RBTV.
  • New agreements to be signed with Zee and SPND by 20 July.
  • RBTV looking to get Sun Network to reactivate signals.
  • No update in Star and Benett Coleman case yet.
 
Star India vs RBTV

  • RBTV prepared to pay at once an amount of Rs.12.52 crores so as to cover not only the balance amount of Rs.9.74 crores but also the current dues of Rs.2.78 crores. Additionally, it undertakes to provide TDS certificates to Star India Pvt Ltd for the amount of Rs.2.23 crores so as to comply with its liabilities under the settlement agreement and also shall meet the tax liabilities for the current dues by paying GST in accordance with law.
  • Reliance Big TV Ltd. wants a further interim direction to Star India Pvt Ltd to restore supply of signals and to enter into a fresh agreement because the earlier agreement has expired by efflux of time by 31.8.2017.
  • Star India Pvt Ltd claims that RBTV is liable to pay more than the amount which was agreed through settlement agreement.
  • On payment of Rs.12.52 crores, the supply of signals under this interim order shall be restored at the earliest and preferably within 24 hours. : TDSAT

Sun Network Case
  • Rs. 2.36 crores paid to Sun TV Network Ltd. on 13th July, 2018.
  • The respondent has offered to make immediate payment of the next instalment of Rs.2.36 crores which otherwise will fall due on 10.8.2018 for getting immediate supply of signals from the petitioner (Sun Network) by getting the settlement of agreement dated 29.1.2018 revived with parties should sit together and try to work out the terms of a modified settlement agreement modifications.
