If we go by BARC data which I don't trust at all. It's not regional player. It's national player dominating in Assam and Northeast. The void for local content is filed by the existing channels. Unless, they are willing to acquire existing players and provide superior experience with HD channels. I don't think it's feasible to enter Northeastern market.

Zee and perhaps Viacom18 might launch an Assamese channel but Star is unlikely. As for Odia, Tarang is planning an HD feed and Star applied for the trademark of Star Kirano back in January. Hope Zee applies for Zee Sarthak HD as well.

In Assam big production houses are owned by the tv channels who makes all movies, webseries and tv series. So it's gonna take too much effort getting new content.

They need to make serials in their own production house if any big national Brodcaster will enter in north eastern market.

Odisha opened opportunity for Broadcasters as Star India is going to Launch Star Kirano SD & HD. Now there are all big Broadcasters are available except Sony & Sun in Odisha.

I think Sony & Sun will take some more time to enter in Odia Market.

In Bhojpuri there are already two no.1 channels from ZEE, Big Ganga (Zee Ganga) and Zee Biskope. Viacom18 also planning for a Bhojpuri channel. Star may not enter in Bhojpuri market in future.

And in Assamese market I think any of Zee or Viacom18 will take minimum 1 or 2 more years for an Assamese channel.
If Star also enter then not before 5 years I think.
