Continuing withe the trend, all russian satellites leaving us :'(

In abt a year, new sat YAMAL 601 will replace yamal 202 @ 49 E slot...

It doesnt have coverage over India, only some in NE parts...
current sat, covers whole of India... so we'll be loosing out on one more satellite. :(:'(

Yamal-601 (Yamal-601) - a Russian communications satellite, which is created for JSC "Gazprom Space Systems' (SCS), a French company" Thales Alenia Space "on the basis of satellite platform" Spacebus 4000 ".

The satellite will be launched into geostationary orbit in the orbital position of 49 degrees East to provide telecommunications services in the Middle East, North Africa and Southeast Asia.

During the launch of the satellite will be in charge of the Russian-American company "International Launch Services" (ILS). In orbit "Yamal-601" will be displayed in 2016 with the help of the carrier rocket heavy class "Proton-M".

The satellite transponders installed:

Ka-band to provide fixed-line services and data across Europe, Middle East, North Afrikt and Southeast Asia;
A range of Ku for the provision of telecommunications services in the Russian market;
C-band for the provision of telecommunications services in the Russian market.

In this case, 26 Ka-band transponders, 19 - Ku A range and 16 - C-band will be aimed at Russia.

According to the General Director of GCS Dmitry Sevastyanov, the satellite "Yamal-601" is planned to involve up to 40 Ka-band transponders.

In addition to the board will be installed two repeater designed to operate in the Ku- and Ka-band.
