MUMBAI: 6th edition of Goa Marathi Film Festival will be held from June 28 to June 30, at Panaji. Zee 24 Taas, leading Marathi News Channel, has been associated with the event for last 3 years as a Media Partner and this year association goes stronger as the festival is being organized as Zee 24 Taas being one of the presenter, hence it will be called "Zee 24 Taas Goa Marathi Film Festival", one-of-its kind film festival which promises to will get bigger and better this year.

Shri Uddhav Thackeray will be the 'Guest of Honor' for the 3 day event along with the presence of celebrities from the Marathi Cinems

The festival will screen around fifteen Marathi. These movies will be screened at Kala Academy, Maquinez Palace, Inox Theatre.

As part of the festival Vinsan Graphics has organised a short-film competition to encourage new Goan talent in filmmaking. Along with this they are also organising a panel discussion that will host women directors like Gauri Shinde, Kiran Rao, Mrinal Kulkarni and others. They will speak about their films and their journey as filmmakers.

They are also hosting workshops on topics like 'Catapulting Marathi Cinema' which will touch upon the dynamics between international film festivals and Indian cinema and will include festival strategies, precautions a filmmaker should take vis-à-vis international film festivals, the kind of films that work and effective marketing strategies. Another panel will be 'Co-production and International Funding' and a special workshop for NRI filmmakers.

Veteran actor Vikram Gokhale will be honoured with the traditional 'GMFF Kritadnyata Puraskar' award for his outstanding contribution to the Marathi film industry.

The registration for the festival will begin from June 8 at Kala Academy. Delegate passes will be made available for Rs 400 per delegate. The event is being presented by Waman Hari Pethe Jewellers, along with Zee 24 Taas.
