Zee Khana Khazana, India’s 24 hour premium
food channel has yet another delicious
surprise for its ardent viewers. “The Great
Indian Rasoi” - a travel food show hosted by
your favorite host- Chef Ranveer Brar, will
launch on 6th July 2014 at 9 pm. Chef Brar
will be seen re-discovering the flavors of India
not in a modular kitchen but in the actual
rasoi’s of India as he travels across the
country. The show promises to revive the age
old culinary traditions, giving the viewers a
peep into the local kitchens across the expanse
of 7 completely variant regions.
In India, families bond over food. We thank
God before every meal we eat. Food, in India,
is all about happiness. Happiness that is
created in the kitchen and presented to
families and friends. This is exactly what chef
Brar will showcase in his new show. The
audience will experience a passionate chef
humbly cooking along with 95-year-old
khansamas in Lucknow on one hand and
nonchalantly going out distributing breads in
south Goa on the other hand. Chef Brar will be
seen partaking in a langar at the golden
temple, cooking and serving devotees enabling
a spiritual culinary experience in the city of
Amritsar. He absorbs and spreads the joy and
abundance of food through this show. With a
chef who does not mind saying “I don’t know”,
the show will take us on a journey where food
and experiences will be combined together in
one package.
About chef Brar, he is an experienced and
passionate chef who has traveled the world to
come back home to experience food from his
quirks and humblings. He started his career by
cooking street food and it is this humility that
makes him endearing and develops an instant
connect with the audiences. His unique
perspective on food and storytelling ability
lends an attractive character to his encounters
with different families, religions, festivals and
generations that have played an important role
in keeping alive the revered flavors of India.
Commenting on the launch of the show, Amit
Nair- Business Head at Zee Khana Khazana
says, “The Great Indian Rasoi is our attempt to
rediscover the flavors of India through its
diverse Cuisine and Culture. In this show we
talk about The Nature of the Cuisine and what
influenced it to have the identity it has today.
Unheard and never seen before food stories on
television is USP of this show along with
Ranveer’s persona. Every episode of The Great
India Rasoi will be a discovery of a new
kitchen, new flavours and new stories.”
Chef Ranveer Brar expresses his excitement
saying, “There is a little known and a lot
unknown that unfolds through every single
episode of the show. While some call it an art
and for some call it survival…, some make it in
the name of lord and some keep it to bring the
family together, in some parts it’s for the
royal and in some it’s loved by the commoner.
It’s one common love our nation shares-Food!”
The Great Indian Rasoi promises to give you an
experience that has probably never been tried
on Indian television before. It is not just about
food. It is about the stories and the
conversations we have around food. Through
the show chef Brar promises to take you on an
extraordinary journey as he pays a tribute to
the Indian culture and the essence of that
culture, FOOD.
Get ready to unravel the many layers of Great
Indian Rasoi’s only with Chef Ranveer on The
Great India Rasoi starting 6th July
