DDF Exclusive Zee Media has no plan to launch new channels as for now

But, only very recently (September) they got license for 4 new channels.

On one side, ZEEL is actively exploring South India with three new channels launched in last 30 days - Zee Kannada HD, Zee Keralam, Zee Keralam HD and talks are going on for Zee Kannada Cinema and Zee Tamil Cinema and the on the other side ZMCL wants to be happy without touching South India. Also, not every market ZMCL has explored till date have been served by ZEEL. Essel Group's strategy is kinda weird.

News business is tough , over crowded compared to entertainment segment. That could be the reason for the decision.

How different? Both are subsidiaries of same parent(Essel).Doesn't means they had no relation.

Dishtv is also part of the same Parent but when it comes to adding Zee channels Tatasky or Airtel adds them first and not dish.
though under same group CEO's are different and working style is totally independent
