Zee Tamizh and Rotary International District 3230 will disburse Jai Ho educational scholarship to the tune of nearly Rs 2 crore.
Jai Ho Scholarships 2013 is an initiative by Zee Tamil and Rotary International District 3230 to touch the lives of 10th & 12th Standard students and thereby their parents, well-wishers in Tamil Nadu and people at large. This is a CSR Initiative to bring dream education closer to the less privileged and to curb the percentage of school dropouts in Tamil Nadu every year.
This Scholarship is open to all the 10th & 12th Standard students who have appeared in the March-April 2013 Examinations conducted by Government of Tamil Nadu.
With a combined effort from Zee Tamizh and Rotary International District 3230, Jai Ho has reached out to 20,000 schools and 10 lakh students across Tamil Nadu in the last one month through various poster campaigns and on-air promotions. Over one lakh students have enrolled themselves for the scholarships not only from the cities but also from the rural pockets of Tamil Nadu.
An eminent Panel of judges – Justice Basha, Nataraj IPS, actress Rohini, Elizabeth Seshadhri and Educationalist Rtn Kumaran have selected over 6,000 students for various scholarships and sponsorships from the enrolled students.
The selected 10th standard students will be awarded scholarships for their higher secondary education while the selected 12th standard students can opt for the course of their choice – be it medical, engineering, arts & science or law. The total value of these scholarships will be about Rs 2 crore.
