ZEEL gives SharadaSunder additional chargeof Tamil GEC

MUMBAI: Zee Entertainment Enterprises
Ltd’s (ZEEL) executive vice president for
regional channels Sharada Sunder has been
given additional charge of the network’s
Tamil general entertainment channel Zee
Tamizh.

According to a source familiar with the
development, the business of the Tamil GEC
has come under Sunder’s supervision
recently. She already leads the business of
six regional channels in the Hindi-speaking
markets—Zee Marathi, Zee Talkies, Zee
Bangla, Zee Bangla Cinema, Zee Salaam and
Jagran.

Sunder has been associated with ZEEL for
the past five years. Consequent upon
Sunder’s new charge, Zee Tamizh business
head NS Easwaran will report to Sunder.
The source further added that Sunder’s
mandate will be to strengthen the channel in
the highly polarised Tamil GEC space where
Sun TV is way ahead of other players. The
space also has Star India’s Vijay TV, Raj TV,
Polimer TV, Jaya TV and public broadcaster
DD Podhigai, to name just a few
