DD Free Dish to hold 51th E-Auction for vacant MPEG-4 slots

India’s public broadcaster Prasar Bharati today invited applications for the allotment of vacant MPEG-4 slots on the DD Free Dish DTH platform through the 51st online E-Auction process which will be tentatively held on the afternoon of 28th December 2020.

The bidding in the e-auction of MPEG-4 slots will be open to all genre (language) channels at a starting reserve price of Rs 28.91 Lakhs for the period starting 1st January 2021 to 31st March 2021. The slots will be allotted as per the procedure laid down in the policy guidelines for allotment of DD Free Dish slots.

The e-auction will be open to International Public Broadcasters licensed/registered/permitted by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The channel provider will have to notify viewers about the need to use Prasar Bharati authorized set-top boxes. Prasar Bharati will reserve the right to restrict access of MPEG-4 signals to unauthorized STBs at any point in time.
