Direct to Home (DTH) operator Dish TV India Limited last week strengthened its edutainment offerings with the launch of ‘‘Kalvi Tholaikkatchi‘ on its platform allowing its Tamil Nadu customers to access the state-run educational channel launched earlier this after COVID-19.

Tamil Nadu state government run educational channel is available on both Dish TV and D2H at channel number 597. The free-to-air channel telecasts daily from 6 AM to 11 PM on both platforms – Dish TV and D2H.

Kalvi Tholaikkatchi telecast programs conducted by experts on preparing for competitive examinations as well as programs that enhance the student’s creativity with additional programming including major announcements related to students and live programs by the School Education Department of the Tamil Nadu Government.

The outbreak of Covid-19 has adversely affected the rhythm of school and college-going students. With the launch of Kalvi Tholaikkatchi on both our platforms, we are enabling several million homes across Tamil Nadu to receive quality education daily from the safety of their homes. This adds to the 33 Swayam Prabha and Kite Victers educational channels that we are beaming in the regions across the country from both our DishTV and D2H platforms.”

Anil Dua, Executive Director & Group CEO, Dish TV India Ltd

In other news, D2H recently added Goldmines Telefilms Hindi Movie channel Dhinchaak onboard its platform allowing both Dish TV and D2H customers to enjoy the channel. ‘Dhinchaak‘ was initially limited to just SES-8 subscribers on the Dish TV platform with the same not available on the D2H platform.
