Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ launched in US, arriving in India on August 23rd
At its Summer Galaxy Unpacked event in New York on Wednesday, Samsung unveiled three Galaxy Note 10 devices – Galaxy Note 10, Note 10+ and Note 10+ 5G Edition. While the 6.8-inch Note 10+ will offer the traditional large screen found with Galaxy Note devices, the smaller 6.3-inch Samsung Galaxy Note 10 variant will offer the S-Pen experience in a relatively compact form factor. The Galaxy Note 10+ 5G is the same as the Note 10+, but with 5G support and initially restricted to Verizon in the USA. Though the 5G variant was announced, India will be getting only the 4G LTE variants.

The Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ share a lot of specifications, while a few things differ like the battery, screen resolution, RAM and storage capacities. while the bigger Galaxy Note 10+ has a 498ppi 3040×1440 pixels resolution display. Both are Dynamic AMOLED panels with support for HDR10+ and dynamic tone mapping.
The Galaxy Note 10 will be available only in the 8GB RAM and 256 GB Storage LTE variant. It runs on Samsung’s OneUI experience on top of Android 9 Pie. This is a dual SIM phone and lacks a micro SD slot. The Galaxy Note 10 sports a 6.3-inch 2280×1080 pixels 401ppi Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O display. On the other hand, the Galaxy Note 10+ will be available in 12GB RAM and either 256 or 512GB storage, and sports a 6.8-inch 3040×1440 498ppi Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O display. While the larger Note 10+ carries a hybrid micro SD slot, the smaller variant lacks the same.
Both the phones come with a slightly faster Exynos 9825 chipset, which was announced a few hours before the NY event. They also come with the all-new S Pen, which features a 6-axis sensor with a gyroscope and acceleration sensor. Moreover, they also come with a triple rear camera setup, with a 12-megapixel wide-angle (77 degrees) primary sensor that has a variable aperture from f/1.5-f/2.4 as well as optical image stabilisation (OIS). The setup also features a 16-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide angle (123 degrees) lens and an f/2.2 aperture. Finally, it bears a 12-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens (45 degrees), an f/2.1 aperture, and OIS. The Note 10+ also features a DepthVision Camera with VGA (or 0.3MP resolution) in addition, placed below the flash module.
Both phones carry an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, proximity sensor, RBG light sensor, and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor on board. The Galaxy Note 10 will have a 3500 mAh battery while the larger Note 10+ will carry a 4300 mAh battery. The Note 10+ also features 45W fast charging, while the smaller variant is stuck at 25W fast charging, which is better than most other phones carrying 18W charging.
Pricing, Colours and Availability
Both Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ will go on sale in India beginning August 23. The pre-bookings have started and will continue through August 22. Anyone will be able to pre-book the phone via Samsung retail outlets as well as online retailers like Amazon, Flipkart, Samsung Online Store, and Tata Cliq.
Galaxy Note 10 will launch with 8GB RAM and 256GB Storage at Rs. 69999 in three colors – Aura Red, Aura Glow and Aura Black. Meanwhile the Galaxy Note 10+ will launch in 2 variants. The 12GB RAM and 256GB Storage one will cost Rs. 79999 and the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant will set the user back by an additional Rs. 10000, taking the device’s price to Rs. 89999.
There are some pre-booking offers too, the consumers will get a cashback of Rs. 6,000 when using HDFC Bank credit or debits cards at retail outlets and Samsung Online Store. Same cashback is available by using ICICI Bank credit or debit cards at Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm Mall, and Tata Cliq. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy Note 10+ buyers will also be eligible to buy the Galaxy Watch Active at Rs. 9,999, down from its existing retail price of Rs. 19,990.
