MIB cancels Adhyatm satellite TV channel license for non-payment of annual permission fees

The number of cancelled TV channels as of today now stands at 332 whereas the number of permitted satellite TV channels stands at 909.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) last week cancelled the license of ‘Adhyatm’ along with ‘Music F’ that was also cancelled on the same day as Adhyatm. The Ministry today updated its database with the cancellation of the satellite TV channel license of ‘Adhyatm’.

Sneh Broadcasting Networks Private Limited held the ‘Adhyatm’ license that was initially granted on 3rd November 2011 as a NON-NEWS channel with permission for uplinking and downlinking in Hindi, English, and all other Indian languages. The channel operated on Intelsat-20 through PlanetCast Media teleport services.

The license was initially named ‘Adhyatm Bhakti’ that was later renamed as ‘Adhyatm’. The number of cancelled TV channels as of today now stands at 332 whereas the number of permitted satellite TV channels stands at 909.

The Ministry recently cancelled the satellite TV license of ‘Music F’ and ‘R Vision’. Royal Raj Media’s ‘Music F‘ license was cancelled last month on 28th January 2021 whereas R-Vision India’s ‘R Vision’ license was cancelled in 2020 end on 17th December 2020.
