MIB drops AXN and AXN HD from permitted satellite TV channels repository
AXN and AXN HD had earlier ceased transmission on 30th June 2020 as part of the broadcasters channel portfolio realignment.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) today dropped two existing satellite TV channels held by Culver Max Entertainment Private Limited (earlier Sony Pictures Network India Limited) from its permitted satellite TV channels repository available publicly. The two satellite TV licenses dropped are namely ‘AXN’ and ‘AXN HD’.
The TV licenses in all likelihood have been cancelled. MIB’s cancelled TV database available publicly remains un-updated since January 2022 although the Ministry by its own admission has cancelled at least 8 TV licenses between February-May 2022 period.
Culver Max Entertainment shut down ‘AXN’ and ‘AXN HD’ on 30th June 2020 as part of the realignment of its channel portfolio.
Culver Max Entertainment was granted ‘AXN’ satellite TV license on 6th May 2008 by MIB. The ‘Non-News and Current Affairs’ TV license had downlinking permission and operated from Intelsat-20, a foreign satellite.
Culver Max Entertainment was granted ‘AXN HD’ satellite TV license on 4th July 2014 by MIB. ‘The Non-News and Current Affairs’ TV license also had downlinking permission and operated from Intelsat-20, a foreign satellite.
