The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has for the second time extended the time limit for submission of comments by the stakeholders on the draft policy guidelines for Uplinking and Downlinking of Television channels.

I&B Ministry had earlier extended the last date for submission on comments for a period of another 15 days upto 31st May 2020. The initial period when the draft policy was floated was also a period of 15 days.

This around time MIB has only allowed an extension of 7 days, so as to ensure that those who haven’t sent in their comments can send in by 7 June 2020.

The Ministry’s TV INSAT section in its notice noted that the extension was on the request of the inability of certain stakeholders to draw up their response within the extended time limit of 31st May 2020.

The stakeholders had requested for an extended time period for submitting their responses, which now stands accepted.
