The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has in the last few months approved more than a dozen new TV licenses from various broadcasters. The licenses are yet to be operationalized post the ministry approval. Star India and B4U Television Network licenses are among the notable new licenses.
According to the exclusive findings of DreamDTH, the ministry has approved around 12 new licenses in the last 3 months on top of the 3 approved earlier in May. DreamDTH had yesterday exclusively reported that the ministry had granted approval to the broadcasters for 30 name change proposals.
LCGC Broadcasting India has got the permission to launch 6TV and 6TV Telangana in May. Both the channels have already been broadcasting for some time on Cable even before they got licenses. B4U Network has been granted permission to launch B4U Hitz and B4U Plus. Buoyed by the success of B4U Kadak the network could launch both the channels soon.
Ishwar Media has got permission to launch Ishwar Bhajan which seems to be a devotional channel. Love India Entertainment has been given the green light to launch Love World. Mahesh Hardware and Pipes has been granted permission to launch Jivan TV with the tagline ‘Ke Har Modpar’. It is a Hindi Spiritual Channel in Bangalore.
Metronation Chennai has been granted permission to Malar TV. News Nation Network has been given permission to launch 3 new regional news channels with ‘News State’ branding namely News State Maharashtra/Goa, News State Bihar/Jharkhand, and News State Rajasthan.
Avanti Media which owns TV100 license has been the permission to launch TV100 National. Dharampal Satyapal Limited has been granted 2 licenses Utkrisht Samachar Plus Rajasthan and Utkrisht Samachar Plus Uttar Pradesh/Uttrakhand. Star India has been given the permission for its upcoming Tamil Music channel Vijay Music.
