I request TRAI with the following proposals and suggestions:

1. The prices of channels not available in any packs should be prices at MRP of Rs 10 instead of Rs 19.

2. The GST on DTH & Cable should be 5-12% instead of existing 18%.

3. If GST is 5% then NCF for 1st 100 SD channels should be Rs 100, and if GST is 12% then NCF should be Rs 50

1. Earlier rule set in 2007 had max value of a channel set at Rs 15. How can you lower value after 10 years given that currency devalue over time? 🤔
Ref : sc judgement around page 85 star vs trai case

2. Telecom and broadcasting is a money making machine for govt to make up budget deficit. India from the independence has published budget more than its revenue. So how do you make up those deficit considering tax on fuel is already 100% ? 🤔

One way to solve this is to publish budget which matches revenue but then you will have to cut spending somewhere else like farm loan subsidiaries or building infra and health. I don't think any govt will do it as it's more important and relevantto public life than entertainment.

You have any other idea ? 🤔

●If you are a music lover you just don't stick to one channel say MTV, you will jump to rest of channels in the music Genre until you find the channel showing song that you like or may like. Same thing a Movie lover will do with movie channels.

●Channel hopping is the integral part of tv viewing which trai is not willing to accept.

●It's also a loss for tv channels for example if I am subscribed to only Sony tv, I will not be able to know which new show is launching on colors tv because I am not subscribed to colors because currently I am not watching any show on colors.
Then according to trai I may watch only Sony tv for Rest of my life...😨
(Unless I follow social media alot, which My parents don't)

*Plz don't suggest me to move to OTT or some Music app, tv viewing can't be compared with OTT.

There is a reason why Radio industry is still standing strong even after introduction of various Music streaming apps. :)

Bro, homes with elderly ppl cannot choose selective channels... My dad wants all Tamil channels though he watches only news.

Suddenly he called me and asked about Infotainment channels... Now I pay for it too... Though they watch for few mins, they need it. Because they're used to it.

I cannot deny saying it's costly now :)

Jagan anna i never raised this point and do understand the trouble involved in selecting or dropping channels for those not accustomed to it. My point was that we are not paying more as compared to earlier and i have compared this for various previous and current base packs of different operators

Bro Honestly before upgrading to Internet TV, I was using Myplan99+HD pack containing hindi ent and mov channels @Rs.93, so it was Rs.192, But at time of upgrading to internet tv, I had paid Rs.6999 under which I got all Channels subscription for 12 months and after that I had a plan to change for the lowest base plan under which I had to get All Hindi HD Channels but this TRAI regime ruined my plan and no option of chosing limited Channels.

Bhai I had already checked all the plans which is suitable for me and then only chosen the most suitable plan.

Well My99 plan used to provide only handful of FTA channels, now in Rs. 153 u can get many more such channels. Also in Maguc HD Add On we used to get Hindi HD channels at Rs. 93 , though right now there is no bouquet which offers just HD channels but most of them provide channels u want alongwith certain SD channels which either do not have HD Feeds and includes some rerun channels too.

All in all ur cost would not be much impacted if chosen wisely but till ur operator adds pending HD channels i advise u not to go for any HD bouquet which includes these missing channels, reason being not only u won't get concerned HD channels but SD feed of the same won't be available as it is not part of bouquet. Wait a little as things settle down, enjoy SD channels till then.

Even I think that there should be limitation of advertisements on paid channels such as if a channel is charging maximum of fixed charges i.e. Rs. 19 then there should be no advertisement as viewers are paying full price for channel. Like this, durations for advertisements should be fixed according to the price fixed by channel.

They got stay order from Delhi court. So ad cap law cannot be imposed

Agree, I posted similar comment on other post.
Channel charges + no. of advertisement minutes per hour should not be more than 20.

Bro I am already Using Internet TV so I watch my favorite shows on internet at free of cost but it is a little bit problem for my mom because she won't be able to watch and she taunts me that now what is left for me to watch all channels has been unsubscribed by you so whats the use of tv for me( for my mom) Thats my real problem. Me and my sister are comfortable with it but it is problematic for elders.

Before trai rule I'm paying rs 153 in all Malayalam channels now after trai new regime I'm paying rs 223 in all Malayalam channels in dish tv my monthly bill increased
But any chance of trai reducing the NCF it is very useful for customers

Broadcaster and MSO's seem have indulged in Lobby with TRAI for this new tariff,
Why should they earn in 2 ways both by advertisements and from subscribers.
Why would the set Maximum price at 19 why not 10 or below.
Or these plans seem to make them immune to Jio Home tv ?
