Hindi movie channel rebrandings: Dhinchaak is now Goldmines, Rishtey Cineplex is now Colors Cineplex Superhits
Dhinchaak, India’s most popular Hindi movie channel, has decided to adopt the branding of its parent company. Meanwhile Viacom18 consolidates its Hindi movie channels under the Colors Cineplex name.
An aggressive acquisition spree combined with proper scheduling and rotation of movies across its channels has given Disney-Star the lead in the Hindi movie genre. However, the impending Zee-Sony merger, Goldmines Telefilms’ Dhinchaak and a rapidly growing Viacom18 could pose a stiff challenge.
The channel is targeted at Metro audience of Delhi and Mumbai as well as Hindi Speaking Market’s of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
Colors Cineplex Bollywood will operate from Intelsat-17 and has already bagged a slot on DD Free Dish in the recently concluded 3rd annual (52nd) DD Free Dish auction for MPEG-2 slots.
