I think we need to consider the sat beam for "South Asia KU band". In that case SES-12 coverage is little bit more than SES-8. Maybe i am wrong.

Depends what part of middle east we are looking at. May be you are correct for Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain etc. I was looking at Oman and UAE. I don't have much idea about middle east countries so you are right.

SES8 signals are weak compared to NSS6 in Kuwait. It needs minimum 8FT dish to receive the signals properly whereas NSS6 is having good signals even in 6FT dish. So this move to SES8 may result in no signals for majority of Middle East Dish TV users.
We still don't know how strong is SES-12. I wish it atleast matches the signal level of NSS6 if not more.

EDIT : I just made a channel search and found that 12403H & 12464H TPs are receivable here. I will check again during the daytime for their availability.

Before SES8 transition, I was receiving good signals from TPs like 11172 etc... But now no TPs from 11XXX are having signals. I just made a channel scan and found following TPs with signals. This scan is made during mid afternoon time as the signal strength will be low(using my 6FT dish).

You have better signal strength. I remember one of my friend in Oman (southern part) was not getting any TPs starts with 11XXX and 12595/H/43200, other 12XXX were working. Even few of these with HD channels were working at night only.
