MUMBAI: It’s not just telecom, but also TV distribution space where Sunil Bharti Mittal has decided to give a tough fight to Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio.

As Ambani’ Jio has taken control of the two largest cable operators – Hathway Cable & Datacom and DEN Networks — Mittal has initiated talks with Dish TV, to merge his DTH business, housed under Airtel Digital TV, said two people with direct knowledge of the development.

Yes, Airtel - Tatasky merger discussions happened last year but it isnt successful.

Later Airtel sold 20% DTH to other party.

So, looks like news is completely false

Can't say because dish tv has completed the merger with d2h successfully.

Its better for dish-d2h users to not shift to other DTH it seems.....Goel Ji is running behind all DTH it seems but here Mittal initiated talks with dish tv...
