Malayalam channels and Bhojpuri channels see a large decline in ratings

In week 36 (September 5 – September 11, 2015) the regional ratings of BARC saw the Marathi channels, Malayalam channels and Bhojpuri channels see a large decline in ratings this week. In the Telugu market ETV Telugu has taken No.2 spot, while in the Kannada market Udaya TV took No.2 spot displacing Zee Kannada. Mazhavil Manorama regained No.2 spot, while Surya TV fell to No.3 this week in the Malayalam market.    

Among the Tamil channels (Tamil/Puducherry markets C&S 1Lakh+) Sun TV’s ratings grew to 300 million this week from 285 million last week. It was followed by KTV at No.2 spot with ratings falling to 91 million this week from 104 million last week. Star Vijay was at No.3 saw its ratings rise to 81 million from 68 million last week.

Among the Marathi channels (Maharashtra/Goa markets C&S 1lakh+), Zee Marathi was on top but saw its ratings take a huge dip during the week to 70 million from 83 million last week. Colors Marathi at No.2 spot too saw its ratings decline to 30 million from 38 million last week, followed by Zee Talkies with a marginal decline to 28 million from 29 million in week 35.
Among the Telugu channels (Andhra Pradesh/Telangana markets C&S 1lakh+), Zee Telugu was on top with ratings rising to 151 million this week from 144 million last week. ETV Telugu has moved up No.2 spot with it ratings rising to 128 million from 117 million last week. At No.3 spot is Gemini TV with ratings of 126 million in week 36.

Among the Kannada channels (Karnataka market C&S 1lakh+), Colors Kannada was on top spot in week 36 with ratings rising to 60 million from 57 million last week. Udaya TV has taken No.2 spot with ratings of 38 million. Zee Kannada fell to No.3 with a dip in ratings to 33 million from 39 million last week.

Among the Bhojpuri channels (Bihar and Jharkhand market C&S 1lakh+), Big Ganga had a viewership of 39% share as its ratings stood at 4,661 (‘000’s) a decline from 5,127 (‘000s) last week. ETV Bihar Jharkhand was at No.2 spot with a 15% viewership share and ratings of 1,795 (‘000’s) this week from 2,453 (‘000s) last week. Dangal TV made it at No.3 with viewership share of 14% and with ratings at 1,647 (‘000’s) this week from 1,622 (‘000s) last week.

Asianet in the Malayalam channels (Kerala market C&S 1lakh+) was on top despite a marginal decline to 164 million this week from 166 million last week. Mazhavil Manorama regained No.2 spot with ratings of 51 million this week from 53 million last week. Surya TV fell to No.3 spot with ratings of 40 million this week from 55 million last week.

Among the Bangla channels (West Bengal C&S 1lakh+) Star Jalsha was on top with ratings of 85 million this week from 84 million last week. Zee Bangla came in next with its ratings rising to 72 million from 70 million last week and was followed by Jalsha Movies at No.3 with its ratings staying unchanged at 17 million
