Bengali film Chhatrak to screen at Cannes

Bengali film Chhatrak (Mushrooms), directed by Sri Lankan filmmaker Vimukhti Jayasundara, will be screened at the Cannes Directors Fortnight.

The Indo-France movie, produced by Bappaditya Bandopadhyay, is Jayasundara’s third feature film. His debut film The Forsaken Land had won the Camera d’Or for best debut feature at the Cannes in 2005

25 other films eligible to compete for Camera d’Or will also be screened in the section. They are Apres le sud, France, Blue Bird, Belgium, Breathing, Austria, Code Blue, Netherlands-Denmark, Corpo celeste, Italy-Switzerland-France, End of Silence, France-Austria, La Fee, Belgium-France, Les Geants, Belgium-France-Luxembourg, Impardonnables, France, The Island, Bulgaria-Sweden, Iris in Bloom, France, Joan Captive, France, O abismo prateado, Brazil, The Other Side of Sleep, Palawan Fate, Philippines, Play, Sweden-France-Denmark,Porfirio,Colombia-Spain-Uruguay-Argentina-France, Return, US, Sur la planche, Morocco-France-Germany and Volcano, Denmark-Island.
