Perfect strategy for the library of the upcoming &xplor HD. Buy some critically-acclaimed movies like Gully Boy and Manmarziyaan and put them there. South for Zee Cinema, Hollywood for &pictures, mainstream Bollywood for both of those, classics on Zee Classic and critically-acclaimed movies on &xplor HD.

In fact, Zee should buy movies like Pink, MNIK and Baby from Star. (I don't know why Star refused to sell MNIK to Viacom when it happily sold KKHH, K3G and KANK.)

On a different note, Star Gold Select is turning into a Pepsi MTV Indies HD. A niche channel, acquiring only film-festival-type movies and not showing any mainstream ones released since 2018, but nevertheless unnecessarily available in HD. At least, there are plenty of Hindi HD movie channels, but unfortunately there is only one Hindi HD music channel (thankfully that was launched by shutting down Pepsi MTV Indies HD).

Well Star India also keeps aside limited investment for new hindi movies bcoz much of their focus is on key revenue generator like entertainment or sports business. Zee has no such concerns hence pumps in more money to secure maximum new hindi movie rights or even has larger bouquet of channels in each genre.

Sony is quite happy with limited channels and takes lot of time while coming with new plans. Sony also lacks firm backing from behind which Star India enjoys (earlier from Fox and now Disney) or for that matter advantage Zee has being an established and well diversified popular brand. Sony should scale up its bouquet else like right now people will be feel less inclined to opt for its channels bcoz of various factors. All said still i like the strong focus on quality shown by Sony over the years whenever they have come with a new channel or even shows

Sony Max has since long catered to dubbed south indian movies and does acquire popular films from down south. Hence as we have discussed before, they need to launch Bollywood Centric channel asap but that does not mean quality has not been focal point while running Max or even Wah which was meant for FTA market and aired mix content.

Sony Pal again was started as a 2nd Hindi Entertainment Channel with new shows but did not connect with audiences which forced them to convert it into a rerun channel. They had put in resources to deliver good product hence cannot be criticized for this. Sony Aath surely has been a disappointment, after takeover they have somehow not given due attention to build it as a strong brand.

Coming to Rox and Le Plex, as stated before in many threads people + operators need to take larger blame for its discontinuation while Sony should have put in more efforts to make it succeed rather than give up so easily.

Still Sony Picture Networks has best picture and audio quality among all competitors. Zee has worst broadcast quality for both feeds of &Flix, Zee Cafe and remained a mass segment leader while failed to leave a mark in premium category
