No other Tamil channel can beat Sun TV when no other Indian channels of any language can beat Sun TV till now. So called popular Hindi channels are being watched widely in all states of India except the four southern states. Considering the population in north part, only the Hindi GEC should be on top. We can consider Karnataka, Andhra and Telengana people as well for the viewership of these Hindi GEC channels. But still they are not able to beat Sun TV. In this case, how can we expect another Tamil channel to beat them? During 1993 till 1996, Raj TV was in competition with Sun TV. But now Raj TV is not even there in the list. But Sun is maintaining it's top place across all parts of India. Maran brothers are really talented (forget about their other things).

More than 95% of TN is on analogue cable (as opposed to more than 95% digital elsewhere in India). The first channel is always Sun TV. (Ask @HOUSE-MD; he knows best.) Otherwise how could Sun TV beat Zee Anmol, Zee TV and Star Bharat (and others) in the BARC ratings chart week after week? People see the first channel (there is nothing called LCN in analogue) and whatever content it has. When you switch on the TV it automatically goes to the first channel (i.e., Sun TV). This may be one of the biggest reasons why Sun TV is the all-India No. 1.

How come Sun TV HD is available across the world? Outside India only Hindi GECs are having HD versions,

Sun TV is available in almost all major countries where Tamil People live and if I am right Singapore/Malaysia audience watched the Pongal Premieres on Sun TV HD while the same people could get Mersal Premiere on Zee Tamil only in SD.

It doesn't matter number of Channels or versions,where there is a large number of the Language Speaking crowd there their Channels should be available that's the main thing.

Sun TV now at its weakest their biggest strength is Movie Premieres & Serials targeting all age groups but now the trend is reversing.Reality shows becoming much popular with youngsters than any other programs but even though it isn't able to beat the traditional form of Programs & Movies but the seed for a change is sowed,In a decade or a two we should see some changes with reallity shows & original series occupying India too & if that original series comes into TV that will create a shake up and how well Sun TV adapt to all these will define the future,but for now Sun TV playing at their Strengths,one area where it needs a huge improvement is they should make their available reallity shows popular and try to make it come inside Top 5 programs that will limit reallity shows like BB,Dance leagues & Singing contests to disturb the Ratings.

Sun TV is best forever, no one can beat them forever, barck rating r fake,no need to believe them
