Discovery to air special show on WikiLeaks

From its inception to current allegations - "WikiLeaks: War, Lies and Videotape", a one-off episode on Discovery Channel will investigate the controversial website WikiLeaks. It will be aired Friday and the repeat telecast will be on Sunday.

The film will go into the depths of WikiLeaks, the international non-profit organisation that publishes submissions of private, secret and classified media from anonymous news sources and news leaks after investigations and proofs.

"Discovery Channel is dedicated to bringing high-quality content based on real life incidents. The programme 'Wikileaks: War, Lies and Videotape' offerS intriguing insight into the WikiLeaks controversy and how it has unravelled in the media spotlight," Rahul Johri, senior vice president and general manager - India, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, said in a press statement.

The investigative programme follows the WikiLeaks story chronologically, and features interviews with Julian Assange, the founder of the website. Assange talks about the organisation's motives and the impact it has had around the globe, through the show.

Directed by award-winning investigative reporters Paul Moreira and Luc Hermann from French press agency Premieres Lignes, the film travels to London, Washington, Reykjavik and Paris to meet the WikiLeaks journalists and hackers who are fighting for transparency.

The film also includes an interview with former WikiLeaks spokesperson Daniel Domscheit-Berg.
