GSN HD's first nationwide satellite-TV launch is on Dish Network, not majority owner DirecTV.

Dish said on Monday that GSN HD, the high-definition version of what used to be called Game Show Network, is available to customers getting the America's Top 200 programmng package or above.

GSN is owned by DirecTV and Sony Pictures Entertainment. DirecTV acquired a 65% stake as part of a 2009 transaction with Liberty Media. (Last week DirecTV in its first-quarter earnings release that it sold a 5% stake in GSN for $60 million, a $25-million pre-tax gain, reducing its stake in GSN to 60%.) The network has not yet reached a deal for DirecTV HD carriage.

GSN has only announced one round of launches of the HD network since it launched in September 2010. Last December, it announced Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks and Service Electric Cablevision launches and said the network was available to 3.5 million pay-TV subscribers. An updated carriage figure was not immediately available. GSN, in standard definition, has 75 million subscribers, according to the network's Web site.
