AFAIK HD and STB cost may differ in less than 500/-.

The new connections were available in eBay (till 2 days back) at ₹1200, which include NXT-HD STB, ODU, 10 cable and installation along with 1 month Full-on HD pack. Similar pack in shops were costing ₹1600 onwards. In such a situation, I don't see there's a need for supplying an SD STB for a new customer. These SD STBs are primarily for replacement purpose for old customers who wants SD STBs only.
