ESPN HD AND STAR Cricket HD channels -

The Company will launch two new high definition ("HD") television channels providing HD feed of sports related content subject to and in accordance with the relevant permissions from and any terms prescribed by, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The Company will launch these channels, namely, 'ESPN HD' and 'STAR Cricket HD', on 19th July, 2011 and the said channels will be available for subscription from such date.

There are substantial fixed costs associated with the launch and maintenance of an HD channel on a continuous basis, including but not limited to, enhancement of the existent technical systems and establishment costs. Keeping in view the foregoing and the premium quality of the service along with other relevant factors, the Company proposes the following slabs for subscription to ESPN HD and STAR Cricket HD channels from 19th July, 2011 -

As A-la-carte - Per Set Top Box Per Month

ESPN HD 141.80

STAR Cricket HD 119.90,


ESPN HD & STAR Cricket HD Bouquet -Per Set Top Box Per Month

What I Have Understand Is Since Their Launch Oh These Two HD Channels, Seems Like They Have Never Changed Their Price, Then How Could Airtel Dropped These 2 Channels Saying Costly?

Always ESPN STAR Has Issue With Subscription Rates, May It Be DTH, MSO Or Analog Cable Operators.. AirTel Had One Year Contract [Terms Better Known To AirTel and ESS], Now When ESS Got India Right They Had WIN WIN Situation With Pakistan's Tour Of India.. As They Have Invested So Much, Want To Get More Money Back...[As ESPN Stake In ESS Has Been Taken By STARSports]

Airtel is totally responsible for drop of star's HD channels. As realise that no annual user can move to other DTH easily because generally all HD users are paying in advance rental. Airtel does cheating with its HD customer same like dish tv
