Issue with Messages

Greetings to the community. I've been an avid reader here.
I have Airtel HD DVR installed. I found yesterday that yellow light on the STB is lit up and on pressing "OK" on the remote, it shows that there is some unread message. When I press yellow button on my remote, nothing happens.
I also tried going to Menu->Help->Messages but still nothing. Can someone help regarding this?

This happens on my brother's HD DVR too..
But mine works fine. May be we should force update the software.

Thanks for this thread link. Though this thread mentions wrong steps for fixing issue, but with some more googling, I figured out the exact steps.

Goto Menu->Settings->Diagnostics
Press buttons in exact sequence: Red, Left Arrow, Green, Right Arrow, Yellow

There will be a new menu item called "Clear Apps Data"
Select and click OK.
Your set top box will restart and *boom* everything works!!  :c

Exactly same options added to Tata Sky Transfer DVR..
