Kuala Lumpur, May 17 : The change of government in Tamil Nadu state, has prompted Malaysia's Consumers Association of Penang (CAP) to call on the satellite television service Astro to replace its Tamil news channels.

CAP education officer N.V. Subbarow said that both channels Sun TV and Makkal TV were controlled by the defeated Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party sympathizers, and thus, would not provide balanced Tamil Nadu news coverage.

He said Astro should consider bringing on board Jaya TV for a balanced view of news from the state, The Star reports.

The winning political party All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) owns the channel.
