MUMBAI: Minister of State (MoS) in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) Rajyvardhan Singh Rathore has said that the ministry doesn’t have the power to issue licences to online news channels and portals.
Rathore further stated that the policy matters relating to information technology and internet are governed by the Information Technology Act, 2000 administered by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
