MUMBAI: Two of Hollywood’s biggest names – Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon – mark their grand television debut, along with tinsel town’s renowned actor from ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ Shailene Woodley, to champion female empowerment in the upcoming, most anticipated show – ‘Big Little Lies’.

The English entertainment channel Star World Premiere HD is set to premiere ‘Big Little Lies’ on 21 February at 10 pm.

Based on Liane Moriarty’s bestselling novel, the seven-episode series is a dark dramedy that follows three mothers of kindergarteners whose apparently perfect lives unravel to the point of murder.

The show comprises a dynamic cast including Oscar winners Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, ‘Parks And Recreation’ fame Adam Scott, ‘Jurassic Park’ star Laura Dern and Alexander Skarsgard of ‘True Blood’ and ‘The Legend of Tarzan’.

Jean-Marc Vallée stepped in to direct ‘Big Little Lies’ along with writer David E. Kelley of ‘Goliath’ fame. Kidman and Witherspoon had some big shoes to fill as they assumed responsibilities as executive producers of the show apart from doing their bit as actors on the series.

AXN to premiere 2nd season of ‘Billions’ from 25 Feb

English entertainment channel AXN India will premiere the second season of ‘Billions’ from 25 February at 11 pm.

‘Billions’ is an American television drama series created by Brian Koppelman, David Levien and Andrew Ross Sorkin. It features Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis.

The series is loosely based on the activities of crusading federal prosecutor of financial crimes Preet Bharara, the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York.

The story revolves around Chuck Rhoades (Giamatti), a sincere but ruthless US Attorney who engages in an egoistic battle with hedge fund kingpin Bobby ‘Axe’ Axelrod (Lewis) as they try to outdo each other in the competitive financial market.

The first season was launched in January 2016 and consisted of 13 episodes.

AXN to premiere 'The Voice' s12

It’s time we move from stunts to saxophones, action to accordion, and thrill to trumpets with the most awaited music reality show.

AXN is back with the latest season of the popular singing reality competition The Voice. Season 12 premieres from 4 March, every Saturday – Sunday at 8 pm.

The three-time Grammy Award winner Gwen Stefani will accompany Alicia Keys, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton in this season.

The show's innovative format features five stages of talent competition: the first being the blind auditions, followed by the battle rounds, the knockouts, the live playoffs and finally the live performance shows.

Comedy Central to premiere new seasons of ‘Younger’, ‘Citizen Khan’, ‘Blunt Talk’

MUMBAI: Viacom18’s English entertainment channel Comedy Central has lined up new shows for the month of March.

In addition to its existing line-up of ‘F.R.I.E.N.D.S’, ‘The Mindy Project’, ‘Suits’, ‘Man with a Plan’, ‘The Great Indoors’ and ‘Dr Ken’, the channel will host three India television premieres, namely ‘Younger 3’, ‘Citizen Khan 5’ and ‘Blunt Talk 2’.

The third season of ‘Younger’ will air from 16 March onwards, at 10 pm, every Thursday. The new season will feature the story of single-mom Liza, who realizes that starting a new career gets more difficult as you age. When a young tattoo artist convinces her she looks younger, Liza decides to pass herself off as 26, courtesy of a makeover by her best friend, Maggie. Ultimately, she becomes an assistant to Diana Trout, at the publishing firm Empirical Press, where she befriends Kelsey Peters (Hilary Duff), her 20-something co-worker. Liza hopes to make it a dream career while no one discovers her secret.

‘Citizen Khan 5’ will air from 16 March onwards, every Thursday, at 10.30 pm. It is set in Sparkhill, East Birmingham, described by its lead character, a Pakistani Muslim Mr. Khan, as ‘the capital of British Pakistan’. The show follows the trials and tribulations of Mr Khan, a loud-mouthed, patriarchal, self-appointed, cricket-loving community leader, and his long-suffering wife and family.

MUMBAI: Star World Premiere HD is all set to air the fifth season of Emmy award winning drama series ‘The Americans’ on 11 March, every Saturday at 9 pm.

Heading into its penultimate season, the series boasts of a cast with Emmy and Golden Globe nominated actors like Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys in lead roles. Russell and Rhy play the character of Elizabeth Jennings and Philip Jennings, two Russian spies posing as Americans while residing in Washington DC, in order to spy on the American government.

As the series enters its endgame, season 5 will further explore the relationships between the Jennings even more closely while Elizabeth (Russell) and Philip Jennings (Rhys) continue to spy. Elizabeth and Philip investigate an American plot to create a famine in the Soviet Union and have found themselves a son who will work alongside them with no hesitation.

MUMBAI: Celebrating Holi festival, English movie channel Star World Premiere HD will air award-winning comedy series ‘Silicon Valley’ seasons 1 and 2 on 13 March, from 11 am onwards.

Created by Mike Judge, ‘Silicon Valley’ stars popular stand-up comedian T.J. Miller, Thomas Middleditch , Josh Brener , Kumail Nanjiani , Martin Starr , Zach Woods and Amanda Crew. Judge is known for creating several popular shows such as ‘Saturday Night Live’, ‘Beavis and Butt-Head Do America’ and ‘King of the Hill’.

MUMBAI: Star World Premiere HD will air the grand finale of the critically acclaimed show ‘This Is Us’ on 18 March at 10 pm.

The family drama, starring Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Justin Hartley, Sterling K Brown and Chrissy Metz, is one of the biggest hits of 2016 and has managed to captivate a huge fan base in a short period of time.

Produced by Rhode Island Ave Productions, the show delves into the lives of people who share the same birthday and whose lives are mysteriously linked to each other.

The series follows siblings Kate, Kevin and Randall as their lives intertwine. Kate and Kevin were originally part of a triplet pregnancy, conceived in the bathroom of Froggy’s, a bar, during Super Bowl XIV. Their due date was 12 October 1980, but they were born six weeks early on 31 August. Their biological brother was stillborn. Their parents, Jack and Rebecca Pearson, intent on bringing home three babies, decide to adopt another newborn: Randall, a black child born the same day and brought to the same hospital after his biological father abandoned him at a fire station.
